With Randall, my breastfeeding journey has been easier because I knew what to expect. With Lane, my biggest challenge was getting him to latch the first night home. I cried and cried because I couldn’t get him to latch. It was a very long night. I overcame this by being persistent and not quitting right out of the gate. I haven’t had any challenges with Randall — he latched great and hasn’t quit eating since he was born. My body has created these lives and can nourish them even out of the womb. I love the bond with each of my children that breastfeeding has created. I hope to abolish the stigma of breastfeeding, that women often encounter, with this project.
